In celebration of Diwali, the Indian festival of light that takes place from October 29 through November 2, we’re highlighting one of our early projects: the Radha Madhav Dham temple in Austin.
Built in 1990, this temple is one of the largest Hindu temples and ashrams in the United States. Sitting on over 200 acres, this temple is a popular place of worship for many individuals of the Austin South Asian community and beyond. The architecture of the temple and surrounding areas were built to reflect the holy land of Braj in India so visitors can feel like they are going back in time and visiting an ancient land from the past. Guests are also likely to see roaming peacocks and a plethora of foundations and ponds scattered throughout the grounds.
The temple spans more than 35,000 square feet and features five levels that are connected by 84 majestic columns that visitors can explore, a testament to the diversity and complexity of building styles American Constructors has successfully completed.
“We take immense pride in the role we played in building the Radha Madhav Dham temple. This project was not just a unique construction endeavor, but a chance to contribute to a space that holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for so many,” said Marty Burger, CEO of American Constructors.
The Rhada Madhav Dham temple is just one example of the diverse range of projects our team has constructed. More than 30 years later, we remain honored to have been entrusted with this project and wish a happy Diwali to all who celebrate!
