On October 1, American Constructors proudly celebrated the groundbreaking of Bastrop ISD’s ninth elementary school, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the rapidly growing Adelton neighborhood. Slated to open in August 2025, the new school will serve up to 1,120 students in grades K-5.
Designed by VLK Architects, Elementary #9 will span more than 106,000 square feet across two stories. The school will feature modern finishes, abundant natural light, and an outdoor learning courtyard designed to merge traditional classroom experiences with the natural environment.
This project is made possible by the voter-approved 2023 Bond Program, which addresses the district’s growing student population with the construction of three new schools. A sister campus, Elementary #10, is also expected to open for the 2026 school year.
