Earlier this year, American Constructors celebrated the completion of 1111 West 6th Street's north building, the mixed-use redevelopment in downtown Austin and former site of Austin ISD’s headquarters.
In the latest video of our Behind the Build series, Project Manager Daniel Lind takes us on a behind-the-scenes tour and discusses the innovative solutions that American brought to this project amid challenges brought from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team was able to secure long-lead materials when demand was high and supply was low in order to make the corner space restaurant-ready for the newest location of upscale steakhouse Doris Metropolitan. Office space on the upper levels showcases turn-key design features and sleek, clean lines with little to no visible beams or joists. The ground floor space will also be home to future businesses such as local retailers, art galleries, and neighborhood grocers.
