On June 18, American Constructors joined Dripping Springs ISD in celebrating the groundbreaking of their newest campus, Elementary School #6. Students, teachers, local media, and the surrounding community joined the festivities, which included remarks from district leadership and a special “turning of the dirt” ceremony with the cheer and drill teams.

Located in the Headwaters neighborhood, the campus will help relieve overcrowding at both Dripping Springs Elementary and Walnut Springs Elementary by providing capacity for up to 850 students in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade.

Designed by Pfluger Architects, the building will have administrative offices, athletics, a media center, cafeteria, music room and art room in the middle with rotated academic wings on either side, designed to create natural shade for the outdoor play areas. The academic wings will also include centralized support labs and special education classrooms designed to foster collaboration.

The exterior is inspired by the surrounding natural landscape while the interior draws inspiration from the starry Hill Country nights. This “Celestial Pathways” concept will showcase constellation wall graphics, lighting fixtures, floor patterns and signage to ignite curiosity, encourage exploration and fuel imagination.

The campus is expected to open to students and faculty in fall 2025. We look forward to building this one-of-a-kind elementary school with Dripping Springs ISD!
