American Constructors proudly partnered with Nelsen Partners to create a unique fort for Fortlandia at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Each year, Fortlandia brings together local designers and architecture firms to build a collection of ten custom forts aimed at encouraging exploration, imagination and an appreciation for nature.
The theme of the fort was “Hidden in Plain Sight,” aptly named for the mirrored paneling that encases the structure and reflects the surrounding forest. The fort also features several interior rooms with colorful streamers and translucent window panes.
“Working on Fortlandia was a true joy for the American Constructors team,” said CEO Marty Burger. “It’s something different than what we typically do day-to-day, and the fact that families and children will get to enjoy it together makes it even more special.”
