American Constructors and Schlosser Development recently celebrated the "topping out" of the highly-anticipated 1111 West 6th Street North Building project in downtown Austin.
We gathered with project team members to celebrate this great milestone and thank workers for their quality of work. Representatives from American Constructors and Schlosser thanked those who have made the project possible. Then, those in attendance signed the structure's final beam before it was lifted into place.
The topping out event concluded with a BBQ lunch for those who work on the project and help build the future of our community.
Thank you to everyone who is playing a role in making this project such a success!

About the Project
This more than 80,000 square foot mixed-use building sits on a prime downtown Austin location. Upon completion, the four-floor facility will feature 15,300 square feet of ground floor retail space and 68,000 square feet of office space.
The structure features cast in place, post-tension slab, storefront, and EIFS exterior skin. It also features a VRF system and has access to the south parking garage.
Construction requires extensive coordination to utilize tight site restraints while minimizing disruptions to neighboring businesses, traffic flow, and communities. The American Constructors team worked with the City of Austin to coordinate the erection and use of a tower crane on site as well as necessary road closures.
Partnering with Schlosser Development Corporation
This project marks American Constructors’ fifth partnership with Schlosser Development Corporation. Together we also built the south building at 1111 West 6th Street and the nearby Whole Foods Market Headquarters parking garage. The 118,986 square foot garage houses 447 parking stalls and was completed in 2014.
