On July 28, American Constructors proudly celebrated the groundbreaking of Bastrop ISD's tenth elementary school, marking the second elementary to move forward as part of the district's 2023 Bond program. The new 106,477-square-foot campus will be located off Waterford Boulevard in Cedar Creek's Silverleaf development and is scheduled to open for the 2027-28 school year. Once complete, it will serve over 800 students in grades K-5 to help accommodate the district's continued growth.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together community members, the Bastrop ISD Board of Trustees, district leadership and project partners to celebrate the beginning of construction.
"Our company has worked with school districts across Central Texas for nearly 45 years, and I am truly inspired and proud of what Bastrop ISD is accomplishing today for their families,” American Constructors CEO Marty Burger said. “This community is fortunate to have the leadership and vision of this Board of Trustees and district administration."
Modeled similarly to its sister campus, Adelton Elementary, which opened in fall 2025, the new school will feature modern finishes, abundant natural light and flexible learning spaces designed to today’s modern learning needs. For example, the outdoor learning courtyard will extend instruction beyond the classroom, creating opportunities for hands-on learning and stronger connections with the natural environment.
This groundbreaking represents another important milestone in Bastrop ISD's commitment to providing high-quality learning environments for its growing community.
