American Constructors joined Leander ISD to celebrate the groundbreaking of the district’s first Early Childhood Center (ECC) on May 1. Funded by the 2023 Bond, the new 100,000-square-foot facility will provide dedicated space for early childhood education, helping to relieve overcrowding at nearby elementary campuses.
Set to open in fall 2026 and serve 600 pre-kindergarten students, the center represents a significant step in Leander ISD’s mission to expand access to high-quality, early-learning opportunities.
Designed by O’Connell Robertson, the campus will feature five distinct learning pods, a gymnasium, administrative offices, a media center, special education spaces, community spaces and outdoor play and learning areas. The district is also exploring dedicated areas for its Parents as Teachers program, which partners with families of children up to five years old to build a strong foundation for academic success.
Career and Technical Education (CTE) students at neighboring high schools even got to be part of the interior design process, working alongside the architect to present an array of ideas that were ultimately merged into the final design.
Overall, the ECC will create a comprehensive hub to support young families in the Leander community. We’re proud to partner with Leander ISD on this exciting project and support their commitment to investing in the future of their youngest learners!
