On November 3, American Constructors, Pfluger Architects, and Del Valle ISD proudly celebrated the groundbreaking for the district’s second high school. The new high school will serve students in the northern part of the district, particularly the growing populations of the Whisper Valley and Hornsby Bend communities.
American Constructors joined school leaders, local elected officials, and community members to commemorate the start of construction, which Travis County Judge Andy Brown officially dedicated as Del Valle High School Groundbreaking Day.
The 430,000 square-foot building, located west of Highway 290 and east of SH 130, will serve up to 2,500 students and offer a variety of career and technical education programs including a new cosmetology program.
American Constructors, alongside Pfluger Architects, will incorporate sustainable features into the design and construction such as ground source heat pumps, reflective roofing to cool the building, and locally sourced construction materials.
The campus is slated to open to students in August 2026. Congratulations to Del Valle ISD on this special milestone! We are excited to deliver high-quality learning spaces that will become a second home to thousands of students and staff over the years.
