Our team diligently reviewed all discovered conditions and revealed numerous concerns to the architect and owner team for proper resolution. The scope included mold abatement, exterior wall replacement, removal of all drywall and ductwork, and complete reconstruction of the building with an accelerated schedule.
One unique challenge was performing the work in an active evidence room. The ceilings, walls and mechanical and electrical items had to also be removed and replaced. But, the room had to remain temperature controlled and operational 24 hours a day.
Temperature control was accomplished with water cooled temporary small HVAC units, with back-up units in place in the event the primary units failed. There was a back-up generator on site to power the evidence room and HVAC units in the event of a power failure. To perform the demolition, all areas were covered with plastic and all removal was done by hand to minimize any dust, with units installed to constantly filter the air. The area was cleaned and completed with no issues.
