American Constructors is proud to announce our selection as the Construction Manager-at-Risk (CMAR) for Burnet Consolidated ISD's 2026 Bond Program! Valued at approximately $95 million, the program includes major additions and renovations at Burnet Middle School and R.J. Richey Elementary School, supporting the district's continued growth and long-term vision for student success.
The Burnet Middle School project includes approximately 147,000 square feet of new and renovated space with planned improvements to enhance academic, STEM, fine arts, athletics, special education and collaborative learning spaces. Additionally, the project will increase the campus's capacity to serve future enrollment. The improved campus will initially serve 900 students, with infrastructure planned to accommodate up to 1,200 students. Construction is anticipated to begin in January 2028.
The R.J. Richey Elementary School project will modernize approximately 30,800 square feet of learning spaces, including classroom additions and renovations, a renovated library/media center, updated art and music classrooms. The project is also planned to improve the cafeteria and kitchen and enhance campus traffic flow to improve safety and daily operations for nearly 750 students.
Together, these projects will help Burnet Consolidated ISD accommodate enrollment growth, modernize aging facilities and provide safer, more flexible learning environments for students and staff. This award marks a meaningful renewal of our long-standing relationship with Burnet Consolidated ISD, and we are honored to once again partner with Pfluger Architects to deliver facilities that will serve students, staff and the Burnet community for generations to come.
