American Constructors recently received four 2022 Excellence in Construction Awards from the Central Texas Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors.
Two projects received an Eagle Award, the highest honor, while two projects received the Merit award. The company was recognized for its achievements at the ABC Banquet on September 22 at the Bullock Texas State History Museum.
The prestigious ABC Excellence in Construction Awards spotlight quality construction projects and celebrates contractors who are committed to maintaining the highest safety and performance standards. American Constructors was honored for its work on Schlosser Development's 1111 West 6th Street in downtown Austin, Austin ISD's Blazier Intermediate School, the Hellas Construction Headquarters in Cedar Park, and Killeen ISD's Chaparral High School.

Highlights of the winning projects include:
- 1111 W. 6th St. Office Redevelopment: This Eagle Award-winning project consisted of redeveloping the former Austin ISD headquarters site into a downtown office complex in the midst of the pandemic
- Austin ISD’s Blazier Intermediate School: A Merit Award-winning project that is LEED- and Austin Energy Green Building-certified elementary campus to relieve overcrowding at Blazier Elementary
- Killeen ISD’s Chaparral High School: This Eagle Award-winning project is the first new high school in Killeen ISD in more than two decades. It spans 432,000 square feet, serves up to 3,000 students and includes Joseph L. Searles III Stadium—the district’s second regional stadium
- Hellas Headquarters Office Building: A Merit Award-winning, three-story, 34,821 sq. ft. office space for the largest full-service sports facility contractor in the nation
