American Constructors is excited to announce that four of our recent projects have achieved Excellence in Construction (EIC) Awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors – Central Texas Chapter. All award winners were recognized at the awards banquet on October 9, 2019.

The EIC Awards strive to honor those who exemplify the highest quality of workmanship in their projects, while upholding a dedication to building projects on time and on budget.

In the area of safety awards, American Constructors reaped the benefits of our employees’ consistent focus on safety. We achieved the Diamond Level award, the highest honor, in the national Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) for our efforts in the development of a quality safety program. We also achieved a “Best of the Best” Safety Award of Excellence from the Central Texas Chapter.

The four projects that received Excellence in Construction Awards are:

Del Valle High School Career and Technical Education Innovation Space

Del Valle High School offers students 23 industry-recognized certifications in their new CTE Innovation Space. A few of the specialized spaces include a health science-simulation laboratory, food science & culinary arts class, mock courtroom, forensics lab, biotechnology lab, and graphic arts & animation area. By working collaboratively with design partners, we developed a fast-tracked, phased approach to design and construction, allowing us to deliver the project a year early.

Temple High School Career and Technology Education Building

The new career and technical education building at Temple High School provides a updated space for 21st-century instruction and programs, including an EMT classroom, cosmetology department, production studio & broadcast lab, and veterinary services area with kennel room. By developing early bid packaging, we completed this project one year ahead of the original schedule.

Santa Fe Business Center

The Santa Fe Business Center is part of the newly-developed Santa Fe Plaza, which serves as a focal point of downtown development. The business center houses offices for project co-owners, Temple Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and Temple Chamber of Commerce, as well as Workforce Solutions of Central Texas. The new two-story facility includes offices, a career center, boardroom, training room, and conference rooms. Multiple contractors were working on the plaza simultaneously, which required extensive communication, coordination, and collaboration to ensure a successful project.

Deputy A.W. Grimes Law Enforcement Training Center

Deputy A.W. Grimes Law Enforcement Training Center represents a unified training solution for the Williamson County and includes classrooms, physical defense training area, locker rooms, weight training room, offices, recruiting office, break room, laundry room, a weapons simulation training room, garage space for specialized police tactical vehicles, armory, and ammunition storage. Despite weather delays during construction, we were able to complete the project on time by managing work sequence, manpower, access, and material availability.

Congratulations & thank you to everyone involved in making our projects successful!
