Bastrop ISD recently awarded American Constructors two project packages as part of the district’s May 2023 Bond.
The first package includes the construction of a new elementary school, Elementary School #9, and additions and renovations to Bastrop High School's interior and exterior. These improvements, which will add to the work from the May 2021 Bond, will include an updated façade, nurses clinic, media center, career and technical education spaces, improvements to the cafeteria’s sound and lighting, as well as a new theater.
Projects included in the second package will make necessary additions to BISD’s intermediate and middle schools to meet the demands of a growing student population. Bastrop and Cedar Creek Intermediate Schools will add space to convert the campuses for sixth through eighth grade students. Additionally, we will expand Bastrop and Cedar Creek Middle Schools to add dance studios, kiln rooms, choir spaces, and other art spaces.
